Windows into Heaven: Religious Icons from the Permanent Collection
Exhibition dates: April 23 to July 19, 2014
Co-curated by Dr. Evanthia Baboula, the exhibition featured Russian icons and crucifixes from the University of Victoria Arts Collections that had not been viewed by the public in 30 years, donated by local collectors Dr. Bruce and Mrs. Dorothy Brown.
The exhibition examined the religious, historical, and cultural significance of the artifacts, especially by explaining how the icons were made, used, and how they arrived in Victoria.
